Joel Allen Mayfield

Joel Allen Mayfield, also known as Addason M, age 30, of Knoxville, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at home. Born on January 22, 1996, Joel was the son of Joseph Mayfield and the late Shonda Mayfield. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church (South).

Joel lived with epilepsy throughout his life, which made regular employment difficult. He found a meaningful outlet and source of income through internet streaming, especially video gaming. Creative by nature, Joel also enjoyed drawing.

He was an avid Svengoolie fan and spent many Saturday nights watching the show. He was also a devoted “Weird Al” fan and could often be heard singing along to his songs.

Joel was preceded in death by his mother, Shonda Mayfield, and his beloved uncle, Dexter Mayfield.

He is survived by his sister, Alistair Dieterich (Hannah Mayfield), and her wife, Lauren; his stepbrother, Steven Mayfield, and his wife, Nilah; and his niece, Mahlaya Mayfield. He is also survived by an uncle, many cousins, and friends.

Services will be held at Mount Olive Baptist Church (South) on Sunday, July 5. Family and friends will gather at 5:00 p.m., followed by the service at 6:00 p.m. The service will be officiated by Joel’s former youth pastor and longtime friend, Chace Phillips.

A graveside service will be held at the Sherman Smith Family Cemetery in Winfield, Tennessee, on Monday, July 6, at a time to be determined.
