Jimmy Ray Claiborne

Jimmy Claiborne, age 77, of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 28, 2025, with his loving family by his side. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He never met a stranger. He was a member of Oak Ridge Sportsmen Association and John Sevier Rifle Range. Jimmy was retired from KUB with over 30 years of faithful service. Member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by parents, Hubert “Hube” and Irene Claiborne; brother, Hubert Dennis “Denny” Claiborne.

Survived by wife of 59 years, Brenda Wheeler Claiborne; daughters, Tracy (Mike) Vandergriff, Christy (Wes) Hancock, and Mitzi (Martin) Armendariz; granddaughters, Taylor and Abigail Hancock; a host of extended family and friends.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 5-7PM at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel with a 7:00PM service to follow. Rev. Gary Vandergriff and Rev. Chad Ricker officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:15PM, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, to go in procession for a 1:00PM graveside at Hill Cemetery.
