Jerry Harold Whitcomb, Jr.

   It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely and unexpected passing of Jerry Harold Whitcomb, Jr. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, in Knoxville, Tennessee, at the age of 60.

    Jerry was born on September 9, 1965, at Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, to Nancy Baer and Jerry Whitcomb, Sr. He was raised in Carroll County, Maryland, by his parents, along with his stepmother, Gail Whitcomb. Jerry was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son and loyal friend.

    After graduating from Westminster Senior High School, Jerry began a career in automotive production management that spanned more than 30 years and ultimately brought him to Knoxville, Tennessee.

    Jerry will be remembered for his selflessness, unwavering dedication to his family, strong work ethic, and, above all, his deep love for Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. His faith was a guiding force throughout his life and an inspiration to those who knew him.

    Jerry found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever. He had a remarkable gift for making others smile and could brighten any room with his humor and warmth. Above all else, he deeply cherished his beloved wife of 36 years, Kimberly “Goldilocks” Whitcomb. He was also an avid fan of professional motocross and firearm enthusiast.

    Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly; his children, Jordan “Fireman” (Meghan) Whitcomb, Justin “Big Bird” Whitcomb, and Bailey “Sunshine” (Austin) Schwinge; and his beloved grandchildren, Hagen, Avery, Henson, Desmond, and Nixon. He is also survived by his father, Jerry Whitcomb Sr.; his mother, Nancy Baer; his stepmother, Gail Whitcomb; his mother-in-law, Diane Caldwell; his brother, Tony (Barbara) Whitcomb; his sister-in-law, Gwen (Jeremy) Rickrode; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and a great-nephew.

    Jerry was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Jim Caldwell, and his youngest brother, Todd Keith.

    Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, June 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Jody Darden, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel 4131 E. Emory Road, Knoxville, Tennessee 37938.

    In lieu of flowers or memorial contributions, the family asks only for your presence, prayers, and support during this difficult time. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Buddy Daniels and family, as well as the countless friends and relatives whose unwavering support and kindness have brought comfort during this difficult journey.

Rather than mourn Jerry’s passing, he would want us to celebrate the laughter, love, faith, and cherished memories he shared with all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
