Jerry A. Welch, age 59, of Knoxville, passed away September 11, 2023. He was the longtime owner and operator of Welch Performance, where he worked on racing go-carts. Jerry was well known and loved by everyone who knew him. He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed by his family, as well as those in the go-cart racing community. Preceded in death by parents Buford Harris and Betty Lou Welch. Survived by former wife, Tamara Welch; Kayla (Timmy) Carr, Tiffany McMurry-Collins (Michael Collins); grandchildren, Brenden, Sydney, Waylon, Timmy, Bryson, Jayden, Lexee; brother Ronnie (Norma) Welch, sisters, Teresa (Michael) Beason and Robin (Tony) Stephens, brother, Bobby (Sharon) Lord, sister, Debbie (David) Creswell. several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 5:00-8:00 pm Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel with service to follow at 8:00 pm, Pastor Bryan Wheble officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 am Friday, September 22, 2023, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel and proceed to Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery for interment at 11:00 am. Pallbearers: Josh Myers, Tommy Overton, Steve Horner, Barrett Terry, Jerry Worsham, and Owen Smith, Rodger Padgett (honorary). Online condolences may be expressed at www.mynattfh.com.
