Jerry Doyle Anderson

September 16, 1946 — May 24, 2015

Jerry Doyle Anderson, age 68, of Powell, passed away suddenly of a massive heart attack on Sunday, May 24, 2015. Jerry and his wife were vacationing in Cashiers, NC at the time. Jerry was a graduate of Powell High School. He was a contractor and journeyman carpenter for approximately thirty years of his career followed by fifteen years as a residential construction technology instructor at Anderson County Career and Technical Center in Clinton. Jerry retired from Anderson County Schools in 2009. Jerry was also an active member of Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church of Clinton. He loved his family more than life itself! He was an avid deer hunter and bowled on two different leagues on a regular basis. Jerry was happiest praising The Lord and involved in outdoor activities with his family. Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Kenny Anderson and mother, Darlene Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Lynn Anderson; son, Allen Russell, and wife, Tiffany; his father, Edward Anderson; sister, Carolyn Shular and husband, Lynn; nieces, Patty Lankford, and Cheryl Shular; and Ell Sheckles and wife, Holly, all of Powell. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:00 pm, Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, with memorial service to follow at 7pm, Rev. Travis Freeman officiating.
