Jerry Wallace Arnwine

Jerry W. Arnwine, age 83, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully, January 28, 2024 with his beloved family by his side. 

He was of the Christian faith, a United States Army veteran who learned to fly airplanes while serving his country. Jerry retired from Delta Airlines, where he worked as a flight instructor on the DC-9’s. Jerry loved to fly, traveling and watching his beloved Braves Baseball. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clea and Udeyne Arnwine; sisters, Francis and Jane, and brother, John. 

He is survived by his daughters, Michelle Sharp and Jennifer (Jamie) Roop; grandsons, Payton (Jody), Grahm Sharp, Haydn (Krystal) Szulewski; great grandson, Atlas, Eros, Alex; sister, Cindy (Sam) Cassady; brother, Tim Arnwine and Clea (Trish) Arnwine and several nieces and nephews. 

The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Jerry’s caregivers, our mom, Kay Arnwine, Smoky Mountain Hospice and especially Marsha and Brittany. 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM. Reverend Bob Zavattieri officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:45 PM Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Doyle Wayne Needham Cemetery, Powder Springs, TN for a 1:00 PM interment service. 

The family would like to request in lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Jerry’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
