Jeff Lawson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on January 20 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold (Bud) and Shirley Lawson.
Jeff will be deeply missed by his wife of over 30 years, Lisa; daughter, Whitney Maples, her husband Broderick, their children: Braylen, Brialee, and Bryson; son, Jake and his children: Godrick and Archer; sister, Lezlie Lawson; uncle, Richard Lawson; as well as nieces, cousins, in-laws, and many friends.
Jeff was born June 27, 1953, in Knoxville where he lived most of life, aside from a youthful adventure in Ft. Lauderdale, FL during his 20’s. Jeff attended East Tennessee State University where he was a member of the golf team. Like his father, Jeff truly loved the game of golf and was a gifted player, winning the Knoxville City Amateur Tournament in 1979.
From a family of entrepreneurs, Jeff opened several businesses including a burger restaurant in partnership with his dad and a bar in the Old City.
Due to challenges of gathering during the Covid-19 pandemic, a celebration of Jeff’s life will be planned for a later date. Memorial gifts may be made to Boys and Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley.
