Jeanne Ann Byrne-Manring, also lovingly known as Momsy and Gigi, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 29, 2025. Born on February 13, 1954, in Virginia, Minnesota, Jeanne lived a life defined by love, kindness, and devotion to her family. She was a steady and caring presence, offering strength and unconditional love to those around her.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, David Manring; her daughters Cara Bentley and spouse Seth and Gina Littrell and spouse Jeremy; her cherished grandchildren Maddox Williams, Wyatt Bentley, Jackson Littrell, Lenni Bentley, and Charleston Littrell; and her siblings, Patricia Postudensek, Robert Byrne and spouse Debbie, John Byrne and spouse Karee, and Shelly Kurtz and spouse Ed, along with many other loving family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matilda and John Byrne, and her son Lucas.
Jeanne was a dedicated physical therapist who spent 33 years working with children in Knox County schools, helping countless students grow stronger and more confident. Jeanne will be remembered for her generosity, warmth, and her ability to make anyone’s day better with homemade biscotti. She loved baking and cooking, quilting, crafting, ancestry research, and finding ways to bring joy to those around her. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.
A celebration of life will be held on January 4, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Mynatt Chapel, 2829 Rennoc Rd, Knoxville, TN 37918. In lieu of flowers, please spread joy in small acts of kindness.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
