Janice Lee Stapleton

Janice Lee Stapleton of Knoxville died on Monday, August 17, 2026, after a battle with dementia. She was 76. She was of the Methodist faith and a homemaker. Janice was active in the Scottish Society of Knoxville and the Smokey Mountain Scottish Festival and Games. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emory David Stapleton; her father, James Howard Jeffries; and her mother, Flory Emeline Jeffries (Reaves). She is survived by her son, Garrick David Stapleton and wife, Rebecca; her grandchildren, Daniel Lee Stapleton, Kaitlin Rebecca Stapleton and David Garrick Stapleton; and her sister, Rhonda Kaye Morelock and husband, John and their children Ashton, Matt and Josh. Special acknowledgements are given to her long-time best friend Sara Frazer and the team with Knoxville Landing Senior Living Community. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital.
