Janice West Fortner

Janice Lyn West Fortner age 79, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully at home into the arms of Jesus on Sunday morning, July 5, 2026. Janice was married to the love of her life, Terry for almost 61 years. Sharing a love that cannot be measured and was centered on their faith in God. Janice was involved in the Rainbow Girls, worked in the Clinic at Brickey Elementary, and was a Brownie leader.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Gladys West. She is survived by her husband, Terry; 3 daughters, Audra Jensen, Alisha Grisham and Angela King; Nonna of 8 grandchildren, Jordan, Heather, Lindsey, Holly, Hanna, Haley, Weston and Jalyn; 3 great-grandchildren, Sabria, Ezekiel and Malek; very dear friend, Janice Hines; and 1 sister.

The family would like to thank New Beginnings Baptist Church and UT Hospice for their care and support.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, followed by a 7:00 PM funeral service officiated by Pastor Danny Neal. Family and friends will meet at 12:15 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel on Friday, July 10, 2026, and travel in procession to Greenwood Cemetery for a 1:00 PM interment.
