Janice Faye Carr Eckard, age 77, born October 27, 1948, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 9, 2026.
Janice was preceded in death by her late husband, Doug E. Eckard; her father, Raymond Patterson; her mother, Minnie Patterson; and her sister, Betty Lou McDaniel.
She is survived by her sons, Michael “Scott” Carr and Russell “Chad” Carr; daughter-in-law, Sherry Carr; grandchildren, Taylor Barnes, Amber Cox, and Adam Cox; sister, Patricia Robertson of Tunnel Hill, Georgia; and her beloved dog, Lilly Rose.
Janice was raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, and was a graduate of Fulton High School. She spent much of her life in the Halls community; a place she was proud to call home. Janice was of the Southern Baptist faith and carried with her a strong love for family, home, and the people she cared about most.
For more than 40 years, Janice worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, where she built a long and dedicated career before retiring. She was a hard worker with a caring heart, and she gave many years of her life in service to others.
Janice’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother, a loving grandmother, and a woman who cared deeply for those she loved. Her children and grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, and the love she gave them will never be forgotten.
Those who knew Janice will remember her for her strength, her kindness, her loving nature, and the way she always cared for her family. She leaves behind many precious memories that will be carried forward by those who loved her most.
Though she will be deeply missed, Janice’s love and memory will remain forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
The Family will have a private graveside service at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
Mynatt Funeral Home – Halls Chapel is proud to be serving the family of Janice Carr-Eckard.
