Janet Haun Scarbro

Janet Haun Scarbro, age 74, of Powell, TN passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Emory Ridge in Powell, TN.  Janet was a longtime member and faithful employee of Grace Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Powell.  She was a lifetime musician and known for her love for the church and others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles T. and Grace Haun; her husband, Malcolm J. Scarbro, Jr.

Janet is survived by her sons, Jay (Lauren) Scarbro and Chad (Amber) Scarbro; brother, Greg and spouse Dennis Dial; grandchildren, Henley, Reese, Graysen "GT", Brayden, Ryleigh Grace, Brody "Jarvus", Brooks; special aunts, Lois McNealy and Jean Haun.  The family would also like to give a special acknowledgement to Mike and Diane King and special friends at First Baptist Church Powell who regularly visited and helped care for her.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm, Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Mynatt Funeral Home Powell Chapel with a service to follow at 7:00pm.  Dr. Chad Scarbro officiating.  Special music will be played by Laura Taliaferro.  Family and friends will meet at 10:45am, Friday, July 3, 2026 at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Powell for an 11:00am interment service.
