Janet Carol Samon

  Janet Samon, age 62, a lifelong resident of Mascot, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on December 22, 2025.Janet retired after 35 years as an administrative assistant with the East Tennessee Regional Health Office, a career that reflected who she was—dependable, caring, and always willing to help others. She was a devoted mother, a proud “Gammy” and a woman whose life centered around the people she loved most. Janet found joy in traveling, music, and films, but nothing brought her more happiness than time spent with her family.

   She was proceeded in death by her father, Lawrence “Hoss” Evans; her sister, Renee Murr; her nephew, Brandon Murr; her granddaughter, Norah Carver; and the love of her life, Gerald “Jerry” Samon, whom she missed deeply. 

    She is survived by her daughters, Malaina Samon and Amaya Brown (Spencer Brown); her granddaughters, Malaysia Carver, MaKinley Carver, AvaLyn Carver, and Vada Brown; her mother, Shirley Evans; her sister, Teresa Edmonds; and her cousin and lifelong best friend, Lisa Norton, who shared countless memories, laughter, and love with Janet. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, generous heart, and the quiet, selfless way she loved those around her. She had a way of making people feel cared for and at home. Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, her family will forever carry her love, her laughter, and her memory with them
