Janet Carolyn Nunn

Janet Carolyn Nunn, age 88, passed peacefully into the presence of her Heavenly Father on February 13, 2026. She was born on September 28, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan.  Janet lived with hearing loss, meeting the challenge with quiet strength and resilience. She carried with her throughout her life the memory of her father and her sister, Wanda, who were tragically killed in an automobile accident on Christmas Day in 1957.  A faithful and hardworking employee, Janet retired with a full pension from Breed Automotive Corp, a Knoxville seat belt manufacturing company. She was a dedicated member of Temple Baptist Church and especially cherished the community she found within the church’s deaf ministry. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting, competitive bowling, and spending time with her family.  Janet was preceded in death by her father, Winfred Nunn; mother, Iva (Scott) Nunn; and her sisters, Wanda Nunn and Laverne (Nunn) Wilkerson (Carson). She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.  A receiving of friends and celebration of life will be held from 2:00 to 3:00p.m. on Tuesday February 17, 2026 at Mynatt Funeral Home in Fountain City 2829 Rennoc Road Knoxville, TN 37918.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Deaf Ministry at Temple Baptist Church - Powell, TN (https://templebaptistchurch.com/).  Condolences may be expressed at www.mynattfh.com.
