James Arthur Talley

James Arthur Talley, age 74, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

He was a man of unwavering faith who loved the Lord with all his heart and sought to honor Him in everything he did. His faith was evident not only in what he believed, but in the way he lived—with humility, generosity, integrity, and a heart to serve others.

Known for his loyalty, he was the kind of person who would drop everything to help someone in need. Whether family, friend, neighbor, or stranger, he was always willing to lend a hand without expecting anything in return. Serving others wasn’t something he did occasionally, it was simply who he was.

He had a deep love for his family, especially his beloved wife Jennie. Their marriage was marked by steadfast love, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion. He cared for her faithfully through every season of life, and even in his final days, his thoughts were still centered on making sure she was cared for.

He also had a gift for bringing people together. Whether standing behind a grill or tending the smoker, he was the undisputed “master of the meats,” finding joy in feeding those he loved with a pork loin or barbecue pork. He knew how to be bring people together around a table.

As a father, he taught his daughters, Lanna and Amber, the value of hard work, perseverance, and integrity. He encouraged them to pursue work they genuinely loved, believing that a life well lived was one spent faithfully serving God while using the gifts He had given them.

His legacy is one of steadfast faith, selfless service, unconditional love, and quiet strength. He leaves behind countless lives that are better because of his kindness, generosity, and the example he set every day. Though he will be deeply missed, his family rejoices in the assurance that he is now in the presence of his Savior, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

James is preceded in death by his parents James Vernon and Mildred Talley, and his brother Daniel Vernon Talley.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jennifer; daughters Amber Lowe (Benjamin), and Lanna Talley (Christopher Harder); grandchildren, Samuel and Joy Lowe; and many other dearly loved family and friends.
