James Lynn Nipper, Jr

James Lynn Nipper, Jr., affectionately known as Shorty, age 77, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Jim retired from Liberty National as an insurance agent. He was a member of Bashart Baptist Church for the past few years. He enjoyed time at his camper, fishing, and tinkering in his garage. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by parents, Margaret Elizabeth and James Lynn Nipper, Sr.; father-in-law, Roy Dixon; siblings, Carrie Lovett, Frank Nipper, Betty Weaver; Charlie Nipper, and Mary Harper; nephews, Joseph Monroe and John Nipper.

Survived by wife of 52 years, Susan Nipper; mother-in-law, Betty Dixon; children, Missy Chapman (Darrell), Sabrina Humphreys (Yo), and Jaime Fox (Charlie); bonus children, Missy Monday, Michael Nipper, and Steve Newcomb; siblings, Helen Monroe (Everette), Libby Morrison (David), Sue Nipper, Kathie Monroe, and Judy Nipper; grandchildren, Kiera Holbert, Dustin Holbert (Chayla), Alyssa Moore (Jonathan), Taylor Jensen (James), Nathan Geames (Mahayla), Adam Geames, Kennedi McNeal, Felicia Carlyle (Cody), Samantha Beachy (Kevin), and Elizabeth Fox ( Jacob); 20 great grandchildren, multiple nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends Vernon and Judy Weaver, and Larry and Merle Crowe.

A visitation will be held at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel on Monday, August 11, 2025 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm with a service to follow at 6:00pm with Pastors Mike Hinkle, Lance Pratt, and Mark Brackney officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 AM for entombment at Greenwood Cemetery on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 11:00am.

Pallbearers: Nathan Geames, Adam Geames, Dustin Holbert, Michael Nipper, Charlie Fox, Darrell Chapman, Jonathan Moore, and James Jensen. Honorary Pallbearers: Vernon Weaver, Steve Newcomb, and Robert Gardner.
