James Wayne Hollifield

James W. "Holly" Hollifield, age 77, of Knoxville went to be with his Lord  and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 11, 2023.  Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse R. Hollifield and Mattie C. Hollifield; and his sisters and brother.  Jim is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary E. Hollifield, his daughter, Sharon G. Cronas (Carlos H. Cronas, Jr.) his granddaughter, Megan H. Catlett (Jeremiah L. Catlett), his grandson, Michael C. Cronas, and great-grandson, Camden R. Catlett; and #2 daughter, Stella L. Catlett, several nieces and nephews.  Jim worked as a boilermaker for the Y-12 Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN for 35 years. Jim enjoyed spending his time with all of his grandchildren and great-grandson.  He also loved sitting in his garage and talking to every neighbor who cared to stop and listen.  Jim was also available to leand a helping hand to any and everyone who asked.  Jim very much enjoyed spending time with all of his friends from Y-12 at their monthly Cracker Barrel breakfasts.  Jim never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon til 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel followed by a 2:00 p.m. funeral service Rev.
