James Franklin Merriman, 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 7, 2022 with all of his children by his side.
Jim is preceded in death by his lovely wife Christa Merriman, mother and father - Nina and Joseph Merriman, and his brother Johnny Merriman.
An Evangelist and Ordained Bishop with the Church of God, Jim’s great passion was to connect with people both personally and spiritually. West Haven Ministries was his ministering home church. He was so generous to all with his time and service. His encouragement filled many hearts, while his smile filled a room.
Jim’s entrepreneurial spirit took him and his travel seeking clients around the world as owner/operator of several travel companies. Merriman Travel was his passion from 1978-1991. In his later years he focused on another trade, as owner/operator of Home Maintenance Group.
His love for and legacy are reflected in his surviving children - his two sons, Greg (Janice) Merriman, Jeff (Traci) Merriman, and his three daughters Lilo (Kenny) Matinas , Liana (Anthony) Byron, and Lorene Merriman; his 12 beautiful grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and devoted friend and confidante Brenda Albert.
Jim and Brenda were founders of Christian Business Network where local Christian business owners gathered to fellowship and promote their businesses. This was one of many ministries where Jim brought the community together. He also served the community as Chaplain with the Knox Co. Sheriff’s Department for several years.
A celebration of life and graveside service will be held in Richboro, Pennsylvania, where he will be laid to rest beside his wife. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the SOUTHERN STATES POLICE BENEVOLENT ASSN., INC. (www.sspba.org), in memory of James F Merriman, is appreciated.
