James Richard Braden, age 88 of Corryton, passed away peacefully Monday, May 27, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving as a Pilot. Retired truck driver after many years of service. He was a beekeeper, gardener and loved watching hummingbirds and spending time outside. Preceded in death by son, Buster Braden; great-great grandchild, Koda Huskey; parents, Grace and Charlie Braden; sisters, Hazel, Shirley and Edith. Survivors; daughters, Barbara Dunn, Linda Foulks and Lisa Bragg; son, Anthony Prater; grandchildren, Chasity (Adam) Inman, Brandy Braden, Brian Foulks and Trisha Prater; 15 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Juanita and Gail; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City followed by a 7:00 p.m. funeral service, Rev. Jonathan Tharpe officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:45 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2024 at Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service with full military honors provided by the Tri County Veterans Honor Guard.
