Jack Dale Treece, age 89, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025. Surrounded by his family, Jack peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior, reunited with his beloved wife of 63 years, Betty Jewel Treece. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Jack lived a life marked by faith, love for his family and service to others. He faithfully served his church as a Deacon, leading by example and touching the lives of many through his kindness and dedication.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jewel Treece; parents, Lewis Tipton and Rosie Barker Treece; brother, Frank Treece; father-in-law, Roscoe Walker; mother-in-law, Alverta Keck Walker; sisters-in-law, Violet Foster Treece, Mary Walker, and Doris Walker Eastridge; brothers-in-law, Rev. John Price, Daniel Walker, and Rolen Walker; niece, Denise Walker; and nephew, Dewayne Treece.
Jack is survived by his son, Dale Treece and wife Wendy; daughter, Connie Gibson and husband Jimmy; grandchildren, Kristin Wallace, Derek Treece and wife Sarah, Clint Gibson and wife Amanda, and Ryan Gibson; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Bently Wallace, Easton and Emery Treece, and Cooper, Colt, and Clay Gibson; sister, Evelyn Price; sister-in-law, Loretta Bryant Treece; brother-in-law, Bud Eastridge; along with many other nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved him dearly.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel, with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm, Rev. Zachary McGill officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 am Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel, to go in procession to Greenwood Cemetery for an 11:00 am interment.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many nurses and caregivers who showed Jack kindness and compassion during his journey with dementia. A special thank you is given to Carley O’Mary, who served as Jack’s personal caregiver prior to his facility care, providing him with devoted and loving support.
Jack’s legacy of faith, family, and service will live on through all who knew and loved him.
