Knoxville

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Isaac Dockery Jr. (Knoxville, Tennessee), who passed away peacefully at home on the evening of June 26th. He was the middle child, and only boy of five children of the late Isaac Dockery Sr. and Sarah Dunlap Dockery. Isaac lived to be 86 years old, and his faith and hope was in Christ, he is in Gloryland now. He attended Central High School and pursued a career as a warehouseman. He worked for many years at the Knoxville KMC grocery warehouse and later retired from Kenco Knoxville. In retirement Isaac spent a large amount of time on Norris Lake enjoying his favorite hobby – fishing! He also thoroughly enjoyed working in his yard, and spending time on the screen porch with his bride Jean. Isaac and Jean, his loving wife of 61 years, raised a family of two daughters and two sons, and were long time members of Olivet Baptist Church. He was a loving and faithful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Isaac is described by many as Sweet, Peaceful, Kind, Quiet, & Gentle. Isaac is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, his wife and son, Michael. Survived by sisters Betty and Barbara, daughters Deborah (Eric) Thomas, and Regina (Alan) Fox, son Brian (Laura) Dockery, grandchildren Chris (Hannah) Fox, Evan (Sarah) Thomas, Olivia (Austin) Harris, Nathan Reeder, and three great-grandchildren, Gracie, Hazel, and Warren. He also leaves several close friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM July 1st, at the Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Family and friends will gather at 10:00 AM, July 2nd at the Walnut Grove Cemetery for the funeral service and interment officiated by Bill Walden. Pallbearers: Brian Dockery, Eric Thomas, Chris Fox, Evan Thomas, Nathan Reeder & Austin Harris.

The family would like to thank Dr. Shane Kelley and his staff for the primary care of Isaac for many years, as well as the University of TN Medical Center Hospice Services and their amazing staff.
