Imogene Nicely Widner

April 25, 1944 — January 9, 2025

Imogene Nicely Widner age 80, of Knoxville, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 9, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was greeted at the Pearly Gates by her Mommy and Daddy. Imogene was a member of Emory Valley Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years. She supported her husband Tulley in his position as a Deacon as well as many other roles serving her Savior and church. Imogene spent most of her life singing in church starting with her Mommy then continued the tradition with her own family praising the Lord in song until she was called home. Her biggest joy in life was getting the chance to retire early to take care of her granddaughter Emily and watch her grow up into the young woman she is today.

Imogene is preceded in death by parents Denver and Cleo Nicely. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years Tulley Widner; daughters Scarlet Haynes (Edward) and Wendy Johnson (Darrell); grandchildren Emily Johnson (Zach), Amanda Haynes, and Adam Haynes (Jessica); great-grandchildren Ella, Hazel, Malachi and Danisha; special friends Don and Rosalee Duncan; sister in love Geraldine Turner; as well as many other special family and friends.

A special thanks to Smoky Mountain Hospice for everything you did for Mom (Nana). The family will receive family and friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, January 12, 2025, with service to follow at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel. Funeral Service is to be officiated by Rev. Sam Griffin, Rev. Tommy Louthan and Rev. Doug Fielden. Special singing by Rev. Richard and Linda Nicely.
