Hyacinth Shirley Smith

Hyacinth Shirley Smith, age 81 of Knoxville, passed away April 15, 2023. Born in Jamaica, Hyacinth moved to Houston in 1979, then to Knoxville in 2007. She had a passion for cooking and an amazing green thumb. She was a loving and devoted mother to her three children. She will be missed by all who knew her. Survived by children Dean M. Smith, Paul A. Smith, and Elizabeth C. Cooper, grandchildren Lauren A. Smith, Renee’ D. Johns, Zachary A. Smith, Sean P. Smith, Leo J. Cooper III, and Avery K. Cooper. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the UT Trial Gardens.
