Hugh Lee Lawson Jr.

Hugh Lee Lawson, Jr., age 67 of Knoxville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 7, 2024. Known for being able to fix anything with a pair of pliers. He loved fishing, working on cars, and spending time with his family. He was selfless and always willing to help others in need. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Nellie Lawson, wife, Sarah Lawson, brothers, Mark and Terry Lawson, sister, Susie Covington, and sons, Chris Lawson and Hugh Lawson III. He is survived by sons: Sam (Megan) Lawson, David (Denise) Lawson and Ethan Lawson; partner, Alicia Cagle, sisters: Tina Richards, Lisa (Rick) Huckaby and Robin (Keith) Cardwell,12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, step-children, special friend, Connie Smith, as well as countless friends and cousins. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, followed by a 7: 00 pm funeral service officiated by Pastor Steve Mouzon. Family and friends will meet Friday, April 12, 2024 at 12:45 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel to go in procession to Asbury Cemetery for a 2:00 pm interment service. Jackie Bohanan, Hunter Williams, Dylan Sands, Jackie Boatman, Rick Huckaby and Hunter Boatman will serve as pallbearers.  An online obituary may be viewed at www.mynattfh.com
