Hubert Wilkerson

Hubert Wilkerson age 87, of Andersonville, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. He was born September 5, 1938, in Union County, Tennessee, and was a loving husband, father, brother, pappy, and great pappy. Hubert proudly worked with the Clinton Street Department for 32 years, eventually serving as foreman. In his retirement, Hubert constantly stayed busy and loved any opportunity to utilize his skills operating heavy machinery, especially backhoes. For a number of years, Hubert worked as the caretaker of Norris Memorial Gardens. He was happiest when working outdoors and was an avid gardener.

Hubert was a member of Indian Gap Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Elsie Wilkerson; sister, Geneva Wilkerson; and brothers, Richard Wilkerson and Robert Wilkerson (Dot). Hubert is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley Wilkerson; sons, David Wilkerson (Monie) and Tony Wilkerson (Becky); siblings, Curtis Wilkerson (Geraldine), Pauline Jones (David) and Bud Wilkerson (Lawana); grandchildren, Brittany Howard (Ben), Alex Wilkerson (Kiersten), Megan Wilkerson-Harold and Kayla Irwin (Tyler); and great grandchildren, Logan, Caleb, Dasia, Emma, Zoey, Margot, Camden, and Natalie. Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel with service to follow, Pastor Eddie Childers officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00am Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel to proceed to New Loyston Cemetery for an 11:00am interment.
