Homer Caswell Compton

Homer Caswell Compton, age 77, of Knoxville, TN passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025. He was a member of Blount Baptist Church and former member of South Knoxville Church of God. Homer was a member of Burlington Masonic Lodge #763. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era, and retired from University of Tennessee with 31 years of faithful service.

Proceeded in death by parents, Oscar and Mable Compton; son, Tommy Lynn Compton; and brother David Compton.

Survived by wife, Janice Compton; daughter, Melinda Robinson; sister, Bonnie James; granddaughter, Ashlynn River Robinson; brother-in-law, Eddie Russell; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a service to follow at 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. Rev. Byron Chamber will officiate. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery, 4500 Woodlawn Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920, at 11:45 AM for the 12:00 PM  graveside service on Friday, August 1, 2025.
