Henry Leon Walker, age 78, passed away at 10:06 p.m. on April 23, 2026. Born on October 11, 1947, he was a man of deep kindness and compassion, a natural peacemaker who loved without condition. He was loved by everyone he met and was known as one of the most generous, trusting people you could ever know. He had a special way of reaching those others might overlook, making everyone feel welcomed, accepted, and truly valued. He was rarely seen without a sparkle in his bright blue eyes that reflected the goodness of his heart.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Norma Walker; his parents, Bill and Lizzy Mae Walker; and his brothers, R.G. and Johnny Walker.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Judy Walker (wife of R.G.); his siblings, Callie Walker, Roger Walker (Ethel), Jack Walker (Sue), Joe Walker (Donna), and Jim Walker; and his daughters, Tonya (Carlos) Hatmaker, Penny (Ralph) Geames, Stacey Day (Jay Shupperd), Jennifer Sulfridge, and Braxton Ryder.
He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Tosha and Curtis Haley (Gage and Gavin); Dallas and Samantha Day (Declan and Hagan); Chad and Tammy Hatmaker; Kaitlyn and Mason Woodard; Abby and Cody Lankford (Waylon, Jameson, and a baby on the way); Wesley and Jala Hartness; Alexis and Malorie; Nathan and Mahayla Geames (Annzlee, Hudson, and Brixley); and Adam Geames (Laiklynn and Huxton).
Even in his passing, he continued to give to others through the gift of tissue donation, a final act that reflected the generosity he showed throughout his life. He will be deeply missed. His legacy of kindness and unconditional love will live on in all who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Saturday May 2, 2026 from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at Mynatt Funeral Halls Chapel followed by a 7:00 P.M. Celebration of Life Ceremony.
