Henry Dale Smith age 65, of Knoxville, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026. Dale was of the Christian faith. He was born on October 28, 1960, in Fairbanks, AK to his late parents, Billy Gerald Sr. and Milred Ann Smith. Dale had a servant’s heart, but more than anything Dale had a grateful heart. For years he was a server at Red Lobster and would work in construction as well. Dale had a green thumb and loved his flowers, especially the red ones. He would often times set up in Halls for others to stop and enjoy them.
When Dale came to Tennessee, God had a bigger plan for him than anyone knew. With the help of his close cousins, Hope and Koressa; as well as his faithful friends at his AA meetings at Powell United Methodist Church, he was able to maintain sobriety and help others as well. Dale will be greatly missed by many friends and family members.
In addition to his parents, Dale was also preceded in death by his sister, Edith Lee Hooks. He leaves to mourn his passing his sisters, Vivian Cavett and Linda Dianne Dulak both of Alaska; brother, Billy (Vickie) Smith, Jr. of Georgia; aunts, Sara Lee Lyles and Mona Holmes; his fur babies who were his world, CoCo and Boomer; best friend, Jason French; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In Lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Powell United Methodist Church AA Group. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Georgia. Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel is honored to serve the family of Mr. Henry Dale Smith.
