Helen June Cottrell Meschendorf

Helen June Cottrell Meschendorf age 92, of Knoxville, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. Born on April 16, 1933, to her late parents, Clarence K. and Ruby (Glenn) Cottrell. June was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. June worked many years at Graham’s Studio, going on to retire from Coopers and Lybrand CPAs.

In addition to her parents, June was also preceded in death by her brother, Clarence M. Cottrell; and her previous husband of 30 years, Richard H. Meschendorf, Jr.

June is survived by her sons, Richard H. (Joy) Meschendorf, III; James K. (Stacy) Meschendorf; daughter, Martha (Mike) Wilds; grandchildren: Jonathan (Katie) Meschendorf, Helen & Grant (Brittani) Wilds, and Matthew Meschendorf; great-grandson, Richard H. Meschendorf, IV; sister-in-law, Carolyn Cottrell; cousin, Ginger Mayfield; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and special friends at Morning Point Assisted Living in Powell.

 Friends may call at their convenience on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, with a funeral service to follow officiated by Pastor Alan Price. Graveside service will be private. Serving as pallbearers: sons, Richard Meschendorf and Jim Meschendorf; son-in-law, Mike Wilds; grandsons, Jonathan Meschendorf, Grant Wilds and Matthew Meschendorf; great-grandson, Richie Meschendorf; and nephew, Alan Cottrell.
