Hazel Nell Collins

Hazel Nell "Pat" Collins, age 89, of Strawberry Plains, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026. Pat was a woman full of joy who loved to laugh and tell jokes. The beach was her favorite place, and she spent many happy summers at the lake making memories with her family. She was a very talented lady who especially enjoyed painting. Her creativity and warm spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Nell Stooksbury; her father, Kenneth Stooksbury; her daughter, Jackie (Heck)Walter; her sister, Connie Green; and her grandson, Brandon Weaver.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, David Collins. She also leaves behind her children: Bobbie (Avera) McDaniel, Jerra Heck, and Tony (Debbie) Heck.

Pat was a proud grandmother to Shannon McDaniel, Christy Bounds, Kenneth Weaver, and Dallas (Chris) Swaggerty. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Shawn (Belle) Swaggerty, Brady Swaggerty, and Avery Swaggerty, and her great-great-granddaughter, Millie Swaggerty.

She is also survived by her nephew, Albert Green.

Pat’s love for her family was the center of her life. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
