Hal Clyde Horner

September 15, 1947 — February 22, 2023

Horner, Hal Clyde Jr. age 75, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 22 at University of Tennessee Medical Center, with his son by his side. Hal was a graduate of Fulton High School and a member of Faith Promise Church. He was retired from a long career in various positions in the construction industry, most recently as an estimator with J.A. Fielden Company. Hal also played an instrumental part in the establishment of BMX Racing in East Tennessee. Hal lived by the motto “work hard, play hard”; and that was the way he lived his life. Preceded in death by wife Suzanne Daniel Horner, Father Hal Clyde Horner Sr., Mother Kathleen Greer Horner and Brother Larry E. Horner. Hal is survived by his son Gregory Alan Horner (Mary), Brother John Robert Horner (Todd). Grandchildren Courtney Longmire (Paul), Mackenzie Chapel (Brandon). Hal was also blessed with a great granddaughter, Ramsey Longmire. Step children Wendy Hammonds (Danny), Kellie Beth Haynes (Steven), and grandchildren Elizabeth Gouffon, Ben Hammonds, Seth Hammonds, Nathan Hammonds. The family will receive friends 2:00-4:00pm Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
