Glenda Jean Godfrey

Glenda Godfrey (Mamaw G), age 83, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023.

Glenda was a graduate of East High School. She worked for Atlantic Mills where she met and married her husband, Charles Sr., on November 14, 1960. Glenda was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church, an avid Genealogist, loved scrapbooking, puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Glenda always had the answer when help was needed.

Preceded in death by parents, John and Bess Ogle Foulk; brother, Ronald Foulk.

Survived by her husband of 63 years, Charles Godfrey, Sr.; children, Charles and Cindy Godfrey, Jr., Penny and Joe Burchfield, Paul and Vicky Godfrey, Rhonda and John Branum, and Tammy Smithey; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, December 11, 2023, from 5:00pm until time of funeral service at 7:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with Rev. Lee Strunk officiating. Family and friends will meet on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 2:45pm at Greenwood for an 3:00pm graveside service.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Baldwin, Kyle Matheson, Charles Godfrey III (Chip), Bradley Smithey, Aden Godfrey, Andrew Simcox, Caleb Branum, Richard Godfrey.
