Glenda Diane Harbin

February 10, 1956 — February 17, 2023

Glenda Diane Harbin, age 67, of Powell, TN passed away peacefully February 17, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed but will be remembered for her many acts of kindness. Glenda loved God’s word and attended Wallace Memorial Baptist Church. For 39 years Glenda was an employee of Y-12 Consolidated Nuclear Security (CNS) of Oak Ridge. She enjoyed a successful career as an IT Asset Lead. She was dedicated to her job, passionate about her work, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In her spare time, Glenda loved watching the Andy Griffith Show and attending Mayberry Days in Mount Airy, North Carolina. You could ask her anything about Mayberry and she would know it. Mayberry trivia was her passion. Glenda also enjoyed shopping, going to the lake, and to Dollywood. Glenda was the Matriarch of the family, the glue that held us together, hosting all holidays of which Christmas was her favorite. Her heart was so big, everyone who knew Glenda walked away a better person. Glenda was preceded in death by beloved parents, Henry and Jessie Norris. She is survived by loving husband of 42 years, Rick Harbin; daughter, Jessica Harbin; stepson, Shawn Harbin; sister, Deborah Norris; sister, Janet Jones and husband Mike; niece, Brittany Logan and husband Hondo (Mimi to Finn and Remy Logan); cousins, and many nephews and nieces. All of these she loved and touched deeply. Please join us in celebrating her life Sunday, evening February 26, 2023, between 2:00-4:00pm at Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, 701 Merchant Drive, Knoxville, with service to follow at 4:00pm officiated by, Rev. Kent Williams. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregiver, Chandra Edlin, who provided loving care in her final days. In lieu of flower, donations may be made to MD Anderson in Houston. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mynattfh.com
