In Loving Memory of Sue Davis. On Monday, September 22, 2025, Sue Davis went home to be with her Lord and Savior — one week shy of twelve years after her beloved husband, Bob. We imagine the reunion was sweet. Born on July 12, 1936, in Liberty Hill, Tennessee, Sue was the youngest of twelve children to Raymond and Berdie Hamilton. She married Bob Davis on October 13, 1955, in Salina, Kansas. After Bob's 20 years of service in the U.S. Air Force, they settled back in Tennessee in 1973. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, ten of her siblings, and several nieces and nephews. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Garrie Lynn Davis of Kodak, TN; Robin (Darrell) Wright and Jeff (Kim) Davis, both of Knoxville, TN. She also leaves behind her dear brother David (Georgia) Hamilton of Abilene, Texas, along with many treasured nieces and nephews. Her grandchildren were deeply loved, a source of her joy, and an excuse for her to be mischievous: Chris Riddick, Bobby Wright, Justin Wright, Lindsay (Quenton) Macon, Allyson Davis, and Marybeth (Logan) Heidenreich. She adored her great-grandchildren, Madison (Joseph) Walker, Damian Macon, and Kalen Macon — and was overjoyed to become a great-great-grandmother to Jude Walker, with another baby blessing on the way this December. Sue was a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church in Knoxville, where her faith was built and friendships were treasured.
The family is deeply grateful to the kind and compassionate staff at Ben Atchley State Veterans’ Home, who cared for both Bob and Sue with dignity and love.
Family and friends will meet at 10:45am at Lynnhurst Cemetery, 2300 Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN, on Friday, September 26, 2025 for an 11:00am graveside service.
