Gertrude Elenore Childress

Gertrude Childress, 88, of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully on April 28th at Sacred Ground Hospice House. She is preceded in death by husbands, Wayne Cassady Sr., Bobby Childress, son, Allen Childress, sister, Mary Ann Waller, and brothers, Roy and Junie Ellis. She will be greatly missed by sons, Wayne (Amy) Cassady Jr. of Kilgore, Tx, Wesley (Leiya) Cassady, and daughter, Shannon (Doug) Woods. She is survived by sisters, Clara Jean Keith, Doris Ann Bokash, Shirley Palmer, Linda (Jim) Farrington. Also missing her will be 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are made to Sacred Ground Hospice House. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, May 4, 2023 with a service to follow. A graveside service will be held at Sherwood Memorial Gardens on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 12:45 PM for a 1:00 PM graveside service.
