Emblem

Gerald Edward Brock died peacefully at his home in Knoxville on May 8, 2023. He was born on
June 30, 1935, to Harley and Irene Ramsey Brock, in the Lonsdale community. He graduated
from Rule High School in 1953. After graduating, Jerry joined the United States Marine Corps.
He returned home to Knoxville after the end of his term of service. Shortly thereafter, Jerry
met his beloved wife, Frances Sue Thurman, to whom he was faithfully married for over 63
years until her death. Jerry and Frances lovingly raised three children, Marisa, Angeli, and
Daniel, as well as their grandson, Nick Williford. Jerry was a country recording artist in the
1960s, but chose to focus on raising his family. For many years, Jerry was manager at Dinwiddie
Distributing Company. Later, he worked transporting patients to medical appointments, taking
great pleasure in meeting people and hearing their stories. Jerry is survived by his three
children: Marisa, Angeli, and Daniel (Sarah); four grandchildren: Nick (Eunice), Julian, Koury,
Chelsie, and Stella; one great grandchild, Jaylen; and by special family friends, Nick and Dimple
Patel. A graveside service will be held, Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Eastview Memorial Gardens
at 11 o’clock am, with Pastor Lewis Thomas of Mascot Baptist Church officiating. Condolences
may be left at www.mynattfh.com.
