Gary Edwin Graves

Gary Edwin Graves, age 73, of Heiskell, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Monday, April 22, 2024. He lived most of his life on Hinds Creek Road where his hobbies included piddling on cars, lawnmowers and trying to talk somebody out of a deal. Gary never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off of his back. You felt this through how he treated everyone with kindness and saw the good in everyone he met. He was a big man with an even bigger heart. Gary worked for many years as an Ironworker-Rigger, and retired from the plants in Oak Ridge. After retirement, everyone knew you could find Gary drinking coffee and socializing at the Waffle House. So if you get to missing him, stop in and drink a cup of coffee and know that he is smiling down on you. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Vinson Graves; brothers, Gerald, Donell and Clint Graves and wife, Gloria Graves. He is survived by his daughter, Kristi (Tim) Lynch; ste-daughters, Cindy (Eddy) Conner; Leslie (Joey) Weaver, Kim Lowe and Jessica Lytle; grandson, Dustin Lynch; sister, Carol Graves. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM. Reverend Charlie Tindell officiating. The family and friends will meet by 10:45 AM Friday, April 26, 2024 at Norris Memorial Gardens, Norris, TN for an 11:00 AM interment.
