Gary L. Davis went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 13 at the age of 79. He was born October 23, 1946, to Glyn and Ruth (Watson) Davis. Gary graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a degree in Electrical Engineering. It was here he met his wife, Dianah. Gary was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with them, whether on the lake or at home.
He was also deeply committed to his church, Beaver Dam Baptist, serving as a Deacon for several years. Gary will be remembered for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others. He was always available to lend a helping hand to family, friends, neighbors, and other members of the community. In his younger years, he belonged to the Lions' Club.
Preceded in death by his parents, as well as his sister, Diana Seinera. Gary is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dianah (Devault); his son, Matthew (Kayla) Davis; his daughter, Kristie (Jonathan) Dean; his grandchildren, Natalie and Ryan Davis, and Christopher Thompson (Nicole) as well as his brother-in law and sister-in-law, several nieces and nephews, beloved cousins, and extended family.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the nurses and caregivers at CNS, Windsor Ridge and UT Hospice for their compassionate care.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, followed by a 7:00 PM funeral service officiated by Dr. Alan Price. Family and friends will meet ay 12:45 PM on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Greenwood Cemetery for a 1:00 PM interment service. Honorary pallbearers are Roger Davis, Jimmy Bullard and the members of Chapter B Gold Wing. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Tennessee Chapter | Alzheimer’s Association in Gary's honor. An online obituary may be viewed and condolences made at www.mynattfh.com.
