Frank Edward Kinder

Frank Edward Kinder, age 83, of Knoxville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 12, 2026. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. Frank was a designated organ donor and gifted someone in Virginia an extended life.

He was a 1961 graduate of LaFollette High School. Frank ran track and was known as "the galloping ghost." Upon graduation, he moved to Knoxville. After working several different jobs, he settled into doing grocery resets and retired from Kraft Foods.

Frank was a long-time member of Norwood Baptist Church, where he met Karen, his wife of 35 years. He later became a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Frank was a kind and loving husband and had a special place in his heart for Angel, his fur-baby. He was also a devoted TN Vol fan and loved the Atlanta Braves.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Norma Kinder. In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his daughters, Lora Boruff, Lenore Kinder, and step-daughter Nanette Foster (Tom); sisters, Linda Wright (David) and Becky Clark; brothers, Donnie (Lynda) and Ronald (Bubba) Kinder; several nieces and nephews and other extended family and special friends, Roger and Karen McCown and Gary and Dinah Bilyeu.

The family will receive friends from 12-2pm on Monday, October 19, 2026, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel, with the funeral service to follow. The family will go in procession to Lynnhurst Cemetery for burial Rev. Marc Sasser, former pastor and friend, will officiate.
