Evelyn Williams

Evelyn Roberts Williams passed away peacefully just before midnight on August 25, 2023 at the age of 80. Evelyn was born to Murphy and Zebeda Roberts on September 14, 1942 in Knoxville, Tennessee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, David Roberts and Philip Roberts, and her sisters, Jeanette Vineyard, Martha Keck, and Vernell Garland. She is survived by her son, Tommy Eric Newman and her grandson, Bryson Newman.

A special thank you to her sister-in-law, Evelyn Roberts, her niece, Teresa Armbrister, and the staff of Holston Health and Rehabilitation Center for providing care and comfort in the weeks before her death.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday August 30, 2023 from 5-7 at Mynatt’s Funeral Home in Fountain City followed by a funeral service at 7 with Pastors Spencer Garland and Bill Goosey officiating. Family and friends will gather at the cemetery at Union Baptist Church on Washington Pike on Thursday for a 11:00am graveside service. Pallbearers: Bryan Roberts, Tim Wycoff, Wesley Vineyard, Anthony Garland, Spencer Garland and Casey Garland.
