Eugene Royce Stanley

Eugene Royce Stanley, age 92, of Knoxville, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

Eugene attended Tekoa Baptist Church. He lived by faith and loved reading his bible. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and later retired from the railroad. Eugene was an avid knife collector. He was a devoted husband, loving dad and grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Royce and Myrtle Stanley.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandra Lynn Stanley; children, John Stanley, Elizabeth Hindman (Michael), Robby Simpson and Lisa Dellinger (James); grandchildren, Joshua Hindman (Megan), Justin Hindman, Ashley Hindman, Emilee Hindman, Taylor Dellinger and Mya Simpson; great grandchildren, Avery and Aiden Hindman; sister, Sandra Yount.

Friends may visit with the family at Mynatt Funeral Home, Powell Chapel on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 5:00pm until time of funeral service at 7:00pm with Pastor Lonnie Qualls officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:15pm at East TN State Veterans Cemetery, John Sevier Highway, on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, for a 12:30pm graveside service.
