Eric Matthew Shaffer

Eric M. Shaffer is 44 years old and was taken by the lord too soon. How about some fun facts about Eric. He was born on March 16,1981 in Buffalo, New York. He is the first-born child of Susan Shaffer. His mother moved them to Tennessee in 1995 where their roots were planted. 5 years later in 2000 he met his better-half Crystal Shaffer. Which in turn gave him 3 beautiful children, Cynthia and Cody Holmes and fur baby Sassy. Eric and Crystal got married September 11, 2010. Eric is a loving and caring person. He never met a stranger. He is always trying to make everyone happy. He loves his many grandkids. Oh, and how he loves his fur baby sassy. He loves his nieces, nephews, and all his family so much. He is obsessed with his beard and loves combing it and making it smell so good. He is always rocking his cowboy hat and boots unless he is working. He could not mess up that sweet attire which matches his country jams. Eric loves to collect LOTR. He is a huge wolf fanatic and loves jackets. He 3D prints with his new printer. He is a great cook and loves food. Overall, of this, most of all he loves his wife. He plays dress up just to make her laugh. He takes her yardsaling to make her happy and to see her smile. Eric is always lending a helping hand. Always trying to make a difference in someone’s life. So, in making that difference and leaving his mark in this world. He decided to be an organ donor as his last gift to the world. His amazing choice saved 3 unique and beautiful lives. He is so proud to have been able to save lives that he has received a walk of honor for his noble donation as he left us to be with the lord on Thursday, November 6, 2025. Eric is preceded in death by grandparents Jeanne and Jerry Shaffer, youngest brother Ryan Shaffer, and mother-in-law Cheryl Norton. Eric is survived by wife Crystal Shaffer and fur baby Sassy, kids Cynthia (Jordan) and Cody (Miranda) Holmes, grandkids Ava Holmes, Naomi and Malakai Cooper, Jasper, Byron, and Bella Holmes, Mother Susan Shaffer and father-in-law David Norton. Sister Jennifer Shaffer and Brother Kenneth Shaffer, Sister-in-law Kimberly (Gerardo) Reyes, Nephews Zachary and Izek Shaffer, David (Tex) Fisher, Christopher, Jacob, Joseph, Austin and Justin Reyes, nieces Kaylee Shaffer, Makayla (William) Taylor, great nieces Alice, Elizabeth, Athena Taylor, great nephew Michael Taylor. Uncle Gary (Chris) Shaffer and aunts Sallie Shaffer and Karen (Wayne) Newman, and cousins Cassie and Miranda Shaffer. A receiving of friends and family will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Mynatt Funeral Home; 2829 Rennoc RD Knoxville, TN 37918 with funeral service following with Pastor Scott Green officiating. Following the service at 4:00 P.M. there will be a Celebration of Life gathering held at Helton Springs Baptist Church Fellowship Hall; 464 Rocky Branch Rd Rutledge, TN 37861.
