Eric Horton Smith

Eric Horton Smith, age 65 of Knoxville, died suddenly Monday afternoon, October 10, 2022. Eric was born on March 7, 1957, to the late Edward H. and Marie H. Smith in Cobb County Georgia, where he lived for most of his life until November 1, 1990, when he and his family moved to Knoxville. Eric spent many parts of his childhood in Southern California. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marcia M. Smith; children, Heather E. Shuman and Brenton E. (Lauren) Smith; grandchildren, Alexander (Alex) R. Shuman, Ronan F. Irving and Frances (Frankie) D.M. Smith; sister, Judith M. Cribb and several nieces and nephews. Eric’s greatest love in life was his family, children and grandchildren. He loved music, history, drawing and good food. A celebration of Eric’s life will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Liberty Baptist Church, Ranger, Georgia.
