Elizabeth “Beth” Henson Roggeman, 73, of Knoxville Tennessee passed away peacefully Saturday, March 20, 2026, at her home surrounded by her children after a lengthy illness.
Many called Beth an “angel on earth” when receiving news of her passing. Anyone who spent time around her warm soul and unconditionally loving heart knew that to be true. Those who loved her most describe her as someone who “never met a stranger.” She cared about people from all walks of life. She also had a great sense of humor and disarming wit—always making a quick joke, or “sassing” someone in the most wonderful way possible. Laughter was one of her many love languages.
Beth fiercely loved the Lord and was the manifestation of what it means to have a “servant’s heart.” In her career, she was perhaps most proud of being an LPN at Children’s Hospital and an ETOC orthopedic nurse, as well as wearing many hats working with KARM in the heart of Knoxville. She also had fond memories of Wallace Mobile healthcare, where she administered care to underserved populations in Knoxville and the surrounding areas. She could build trust and reach people in rare, empathetic ways. She made the world’s most vulnerable feel safe. She was a member of Washington Presbyterian Church.
Perhaps of all the hats that she wore in life, the hats she was most proud of wearing were that of being a wife to Randy and mother to her daughter Brittany. As a family, they all shared a passion for sports, and Brittany was brought up playing several. She remembers her mother as a dedicated cheerleader and says Beth was proud to have never missed one of her games. Beth was also a champion for her in every other aspect of life. The only other role that rivaled that of being a mother to her daughter was being “Aunt Beth.” If you were lucky enough to be one of her many children, she had a special way of making you feel loved. There were few things that her warmth couldn’t cure.
When she was not volunteering, working, or being a beloved family member, you could usually find Beth somewhere out in the sunshine. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and being near the ocean.
She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life Randy Roggeman, as well as parents Gerald and Irene Henson. She is survived by her daughters: Brittany Roggeman (Lauren) and step-son: Brent Roggeman (Robin). Siblings Paula Wright, Phyllis Faulkner (Russ), and Dana Short (Brent). She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Chris Shiflett (Christina), Erica Wright (Adam), Tyler Fuhler, Derek Faulkner, Connor Short, and Kinzey Short as well as several great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by multiple family members from Randy’s family, including brothers and sisters-in-law and all of their children.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 25, 2026 from 5-7PM at the Washington Presbyterian Church fellowship hall. A funeral service will be held directly after to begin at 7PM at the Washington Presbyterian Church sanctuary. The address for the church is 7405 Washington Pike Corryton, TN. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Knoxville Area Rescue Ministries.
