Elbert Walker Kitts

Rev. Elbert Walker Kitts, (Born April 12, 1939) age 84 of Knoxville, TN went to be with the Lord Saturday, January 6, 2024. He was an US Air Force Veteran and Pastor for over 54 years. Pastor Kitts is listed in Who’s Who in Religion 1992-1993, Who’s Who in South and Southwest 1995-1996, and Who’s Who in America 1996. He preached close to 300 revivals in his first 35 years of ministry covering seven states, including two crusades at St. Kitts Island, preaching for missions, and helping build a Children’s Home in Haiti. Through his radio ministry on St. Kitts Island, he began a Bible Distribution Program, giving away over 10,000 Bibles throughout the West Indies and China, printed in English, Spanish, French, and Chinese. Pastor Kitts also had a TV Ministry for close to forty years and the author of seven books. He was the loving father to eight children, grandfather to thirteen grandchildren, and great-grandfather to fifteen great-grandchildren. He lived a life dedicated to God and family, leaving an indelible mark on those around him. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide generations to come.

He was preceded in death by beloved first wife, Ellen Faye Abner Kitts; sons, Timothy W. Kitts, Daniel L. Kitts, and Paul E. Kitts; grandson, Daniel J. Kitts; sisters, Eva Luttrell, Ada Daniels, Patricia Ford, Joyce Abner, and Jeanetta Welch; brothers, Rev. Theodore Kitts and Michael Kitts.

He is survived by loving wife, Helen Braden Kitts; children, David (Cindy) Kitts, Donna Murray, Ron (Kelly) Kitts, John (Jennifer) Kitts, and Angie (Chad) Bright; grandchildren, Aaron (Hilary) Murray, Amber Murray, Renea (Tommy) King, Valerie (Derrick) Gilland, Nathan Kitts, Jonathan Kitts, Rachel (Taylor) Babcock, Houston (Lauren) Kitts, Andrew (McKenzie) Kitts, Josh Kitts, Kayla (Keith) Cook, and Alyssa Collins; great-grandchildren, Lyra, Mila, and June Murray, Ashton and Anthony King, Barrett Gilland, Elle and Emma Kitts, Dexter and Scarlett Kitts, Jase and Logan Babcock, Emerson Kitts, Kinsley Kitts, and Adaline Goad; brothers, Steve, James, J.R., and Jeff Kitts; sisters, Janet Wolfe, Debbie Cooper, Melissa Bowling, and many special nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers; Chad Bright, Houston, Andrew and Josh Kitts, Aaron Murray and Derrick Gilland.

Honorary pallbearers; David McGill, Darrell Seaton, Darrell Dugger and Byron Wiggins.

Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 pm, Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, with funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm, officiated by Dr. David Rankin.

Family and friends will meet 9:45 am, Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, for procession to Kitts Cemetery, for an 11:00 am interment, officiated by Rev. Andy Lynn.
