Edward Lee Bowling, age 75, of Luttrell, Tennessee, formerly of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away surrounded by the love of his family.
Edward dedicated many years of his life to hard work. He was employed with Knox Power & Equipment for 10 years before spending 23 years with Helton Hardware, where he made many lasting friendships.
In his free time, Edward enjoyed playing golf, watching NASCAR races on television, and tending to his beautiful rose gardens. He took great pride in caring for his yard, and when he was no longer able to do the work himself, he made sure to critique the work of anyone who helped maintain it, always wanting everything done just the way he liked it.
Edward was preceded in death by his mother, Blanche Hensley; his father, Dilman Bowling; his sisters, Bertha and Wanda; and his brothers, Larry and Fred.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pat Bowling; his daughters, Chrystal Thomas (Johnny) and Lana Dakin (Chris); his sisters, Christine Joiner (Mickey), Shirley Couch (Danny), Judy Bowling (Thomas); brothers, Ernie Bowling (Yapa), Jr. (Maria); his grandchildren, Danielle (Matt), Robbie (Kaitlyn), Ashley (Seth), John (Sarah), and C.J.; his great-grandchildren, Braxton, Anthony, Emmy, Truit, and Bauer; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Edward also leaves behind special and loving friends, Travis Caldwell (Jessica), Johnny, Chris, and Robert Burgess, who will forever cherish his memory.
Edward will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of golf, his passion for NASCAR, and the pride he took in his home and roses. Above all, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose kindness and quiet strength touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel with Justin Pratt officiating.
