Edna Anderson Underwood

Edna Anderson Underwood, age 95, of Corryton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Tuesday, October 14, 2025. Born November 7, 1929, in Corryton, TN, she lived a faith-filled life devoted to God, her family, and her church. A life-long, faithful member of Corryton Baptist Church, she was baptized there in 1940 at age 11. Edna was a devoted wife and mother who was a master of crochet and cross stitch and excelled in gardening, cooking, and homemaking. She was an avid reader from childhood. Her greatest joys were her much loved grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves them a legacy of kindness, love, and faith. Edna was a valiant 50+ year breast cancer survivor.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ersel Robert Underwood, grandson, Mack Thomas Underwood; her parents, Willis and Nettie Anderson; and siblings: Buck, Juanita, Ken, L.B., Jodie. She is survived by son, Bob (Rose) Underwood and daughter, Carol Lovin; grandchildren: Bobby (Cindy) Underwood, Emily (Justin) Fee; great-grandchildren: Laurel (Braden) Peeke; Robby, Christopher, and Katie Underwood; Caroline and Abby Fee; and sister, Betty McCampbell. 

The family will receive friends Friday, October 17, 2025, from 5:00-7:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel. Family and friends will meet at 10:45am on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Baker’s Forge Cemetery, Lafollette, TN for an 11:00am graveside service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Breast Cancer Research Foundation, bcrf.org.
