Eddie E Woods

Eddie E. Woods Sr., age 80 of Knoxville, TN went to be with Jesus on August 28, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was the youngest son of Osco and Elsia Woods of Maynardville, TN. He was an Army veteran, loved fishing, bluegrass music and spending time with his beloved grandchildren. Eddie was a loving and devoted husband, dad, papaw, brother, uncle and friend. 

Eddie is preceded in death by his parents Osco and Elsia Woods; mother and father-in-law Mildred and Albert Widby; sisters Ede, Mae, Ruth, Dorothy, Winnie and Peggy; brothers Herb, Lon, June, Ralph and James.

Eddie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Debra Widby Woods; daughter Allie; sons and daughters-in-law Eddie Jr. (Kiley), Jordan (Haley); brother Harold (Bobbie Jo); precious, loving grandchildren, Sayler, Wakely, Chevy and Everett; brother-in-law Larry Ensley; brothers and sisters-in-law Don (Helen) Widby, Rob (Jean) Widby and many special nieces and nephews that he loved so dearly, along with wonderful neighbors and friends who will miss him greatly.

A call of convivence will be held at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel on Tuesday September 3, from 10:00 A.M until 5:00 P.M. A burial will take place on Wednesday September 4, at 2:00 P.M at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway in Knoxville, TN, family and friends may arrive at the cemetery at 1:45 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family would like for you to make donations in Eddie's memory to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or Young Williams Animal Shelter.
