Dorothy Atkins Pursiful

Dorothy Jean Atkins Pursiful age 90 of Luttrell, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026 at Tennova North.  She was born March 6, 1936 to Joseph G. and Mary E. Atkins.  She lived her entire life in the Luttrell, Blaine and Corryton area.  She was a member of Little Flat Creek Baptist Church and a 1954 graduate of Gibbs High School.  Dorothy was preceded in death by children Joseph R. Pursiful and Jennifer L. Pursiful Mullins, parents Joseph G. and Mary E. Atkins, brother Joseph H. Atkins and several half brothers and sisters.  She is survived by sons Wes (Jan) Pursiful and Steve (Donna) Pursiful, sister Elizabeth (Bud) Copeland, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Family and friends will meet 10:45 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2026 at Little Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service, Rev. Wesley Pursiful and Rev. Marcus Atkins officiating.  Special music will be provided at the graveside by the Pursiful family.  Condolences may be expressed at www.mynattfh.com.
