Dorothy (Dottie) Hickey McGill, age 86 passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 4, 2023 surrounded by loving family and friends. She was born on September 13, 1936 in Knoxville, Tennessee. A graduate of Halls Highschool and Tennessee School of Flight Attendants. Preceded in death by parents Bill and Cassie Hickey; sister, Peggy Duncan; brother, Rev. Bob Hickey; grandparents, Bessie and Joe Hickey; grandsons, Nick and Josh McMillian; and son-in-law, Darrell Townsend. She is survived by her children, Carla Townsend, Mike (Leslie) McGill, Dr. Rick McGill, and David (Lola) McGill; grandchildren, Jessica McMillian, Lucas, A.J., Dawson, Cody, Weston, and Maddie McGill; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Brayln, and Lexie; nieces, Susan Allen, and Nadine Oaks. Dottie retired from Shoney’s Restaurant – Broadway, where she was featured on Live @ 5 for the longest tenured employee and Parkview Independent Living. A receiving of friends will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 4:00-6:00pm with a service to follow at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel. Friends and family will meet at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel at 12:15pm on Friday, February 10, 2023 to go in procession to Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 1:00pm interment with Rev.
